The Minnesota Timberwolves are going to the Western Conference Finals after beating the Denver Nuggets 98-90 in an intense Game 7 matchup. Anthony Edwards solidly contributed to the team and had a hilarious interaction with Charles Barkley after the game. That reaction is reportedly being used as a Minnesota tourism lure.

Edwards joined Charles Barkley and the rest of the Inside the NBA crew to discuss his team’s pivotal playoff win. After congratulating Edwards on the win, Barkley claimed he had not been to Minnesota in roughly 20 years. Before he could finish his thought, Edwards exclaimed, “Bring ya a**!” as shown by NBA on TNT’s YouTube video.

Edwards’ hilarious outburst caused an epic response from Minnesota native and comedian Jon Savitt. Savvit purchased a site domain named bringyaa***.com and set it to redirect to the Explore Minnesota tourism site, per USA Today.

Savvit’s move is hilarious and fitting. Perhaps Minnesota’s tourism will soar after the comedian’s act. The state is certainly behind its basketball team given their impressive playoff run so far.

The Timberwolves faced one of their toughest challenges of the 2023-24 season against the Denver Nuggets. Minnesota took a 2-0 lead, but the Nuggets responded by winning three straight games. With their backs against the wall, the Timberwolves evened the series with a commanding 115-70 Game 6 victory. Everything came down to the final matchup in Denver on Sunday night.

Anthony Edwards did not have his best game, but he still helped his team. Edwards finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. He had help from five other double-digit Timberwolves scorers. Minnesota’s stout two-way presence proved to be too much for Denver, and the team looks to continue their success against the Dallas Mavericks in the conference finals.

Timberwolves look to continue ascent in Western Conference Finals

The Timberwolves entered the 2024 NBA Playoffs as the West’s No. 3 seed. They battled through the Phoenix Suns and Nuggets to face their final conference foe.

Like Minnesota, the Mavericks were not a top two-seed. They earned the No. 5 spot and went through the Los Angeles Clippers and first-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder to get to the conference finals. Nevertheless, Dallas will not make things easy for the Timberwolves.

The Mavs are led by perennial MVP candidate Luka Doncic. Doncic had a career year during the 2023-24 season. He averaged a league-leading 33.1 points per game along with 9.8 assists, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals. The star guard has dealt with injury woes during the postseason but has still had great production.

Of course, the Timberwolves cannot forget about Kyrie Irving, who is also one of the best scorers in the league. Irving has averaged 21.0 points and shot a red-hot 44 percent on three-pointers during the 2024 playoffs.

Minnesota will face a tough challenge, but they have the means to resist and overcome Dallas. Jaden McDaniels’ superb defensive ability should help slow Doncic and Irving down. Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert will add stout protection as well.

It will be interesting to see how the Western Conference finale ends amid exciting times in Minnesota.
