The Ohio State and Michigan rivalry never seems to take an off day, and the fans of both schools were fighting earlier this week over a significant recruiting battle.
In the 2025 running back class, Marquise Davis chose to play college football in Kentucky instead of Michigan; Davis is from Cleveland, Ohio, and is ranked as the 25th best running back in 2025, according to 247sports.com.
The Wolverines were supposed to be the team that landed the young running back, but Davis chose the Wildcats, and of course, that made Ohio State fans react to their rivals losing out on the star player.
Buckeye fans went to their social media X accounts to give Michigan fans their thoughts about losing out on a great player.
Wow, Marquise Davis to Kentucky over Michigan when he was clearly Tony Alford’s number one running back target is too good to be true

You guys have fun with the classic Alford plan C and D scraps, we’re cool with Jordan Davison and Bo Jackson!

2025 four-star Cleveland Heights RB Marquise Davis has committed to Kentucky.
Major swing and miss for Michigan, as the Wolverines had been the presumptive leader for Davis for a while.
Michigan fans, welcome to the Tony Alford experience! pic.twitter.com/gVaBbsmwBq

Tony Alford losing Marquise Davis to Kentucky and Bo Jackson dropping Michigan from consideration within two months of being hired is really special stuff

The Buckeyes saw long-time running back coach Tony Alford join their archrival, and of course, some fans are still salty about that. So when Michigan loses out on a running back that Alford played a role in trying to land, Ohio State fans will get a great laugh at it.
