It was another eventful week for Penn State, from the Lacrosse team advancing to Carter Starocci returning, there’s a lot to catch up on in this week’s Nittany Lions Digest.
On the Wrestling side of things, Carter Starocci announced that he will be coming back for another season. Starocci’s return gives him a chance to compete for a fifth national championship. Penn State got stronger with Starocci coming back.
Penn State Men’s Lacrosse has made the Finals of the Big Ten Tournament.
The Nittany Lions advanced thanks to victories over Rutgers and Maryland. Next up, the Nittany Lions face off against Michigan on Saturday night at 8 p.m., from Ohio Stadium.
With a victory, the lacrosse team would clinch only the second Big Ten Championship in program history.
The Transfer Portal has changed the entire landscape of College Sports. In the past the Nittany Lions have benefitted from the portal by adding key contributors. However, this spring, the Lions have seen running back London Montgomery, wide receiver Malik McClain, and edge rusher King Mack enter the portal.
On the same day James Franklin’s team saw five players depart from the program via the transfer portal, the Nittany Lions added one member to the roster. (The Collegian)
One season removed from a relatively easy 38-15 week one win for PSU against WVU in Happy Valley last September, the Nittany Lions will once again play the Mountaineers to open the 2024 season, this time on the road in Morgantown. (NittanyCentral)
